Harikesh Singh commented·I recommend clarifying the insurance arrangements before each equipment loan. The terms state that insurance is not automatic, while equipment-specific fees are described as covering insurance only. Lenders and borrowers should receive written confirmation of coverage, exclusions, excess and responsibility for uninsured damage or loss.
A standard handover checklist would also help document equipment condition, calibration where relevant, accessories, operating instructions and required training. Loan agreements should specify return dates, recall notice periods and incident-reporting procedures.
The requirement to publish work data openly should allow exceptions for confidential information, third-party data and sensitive environmental locations. Clear options for restricted access or location generalisation would make the platform more suitable for environmental research.1 Validation
